Terms of Use
These terms are the end user licence agreement (EULA) and terms of use for the TripRoll app. By downloading, installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app and remove it from your device. Turkish version: Kullanım Koşulları.
1. Parties
This agreement is between you, the individual using the app (“you”, “user”), and Dode Yazılım, the developer of TripRoll (“we”, “developer”). Contact: destek@dodeyazilim.com.
2. Definitions
- Roll: a digital film roll created for one trip, holding a limited number of frames.
- Frame: a single photo added to a roll.
- Invite code: the eight-character code used to join a roll.
- Reveal (develop): the moment a roll is closed and its frames become visible to the roll's members for the first time.
- Guest mode: use without an account; all data stays on the device.
- Account mode: use after signing in with an email address; roll details and frames are stored on the server.
3. Licence
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices that you own or control, to the extent permitted by the usage rules of the relevant app store. The app is licensed to you, not sold.
You may not: copy, sell, rent, lend, distribute or sublicense the app; decompile or reverse engineer it (except where applicable law expressly allows it); circumvent security measures or access restrictions, or attempt to reach other people's frames without authorisation; use our trademarks or interface design without permission; or abuse the app through automated tools or by guessing invite codes.
4. Your account
You can use the app without an account, in guest mode. To let friends join the same roll from their own phones you need an account. An account is opened with an email address only: you never set a password, you enter the six-digit one-time code sent to your address.
- You must use an email address that belongs to you and that you can access; opening an account with someone else's address is prohibited.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in code confidential. Tell us immediately if you believe your account is being used without your permission.
- One person keeps one genuine account. Creating a new account to replace a banned one is a separate violation.
- You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app, under Settings › Account › Delete account.
5. Your content
The frames, frame notes, roll names and display name you create in the app belong to you. We claim no ownership over them.
In account mode you grant us a limited permission so that we can run the service: you allow us to host and process your content solely in order to store it, back it up, transmit it, and show it to the members of that roll once the roll is developed. This permission is limited to what is needed to provide the service; we do not use your content in advertising, promotion or any other product, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties. The permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You alone are responsible for the lawfulness of your content and for obtaining any consent it requires. In particular: it is your responsibility to obtain the consent of the people you photograph, to respect local rules about photography, and to ask the people who appear in a developed roll before sharing it outside the group.
6. Prohibited content and zero tolerance
We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable and unlawful content. The content listed below is strictly prohibited and will be removed when reported or detected; the account behind it is suspended or permanently closed. Where a criminal offence is involved, the matter is referred to the competent authorities.
- Nudity and sexual content. Pornography, sexually explicit imagery and obscene material.
- Child sexual abuse material of any kind. An absolute prohibition with no exception; reported to the competent authorities immediately.
- Violence. Graphic violence, gore, content encouraging self-harm or suicide, and threats of violence.
- Hate speech. Content that demeans or incites hatred on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics, and hate symbols.
- Harassment and bullying. Targeting, threats, humiliation, sharing intimate images without consent, exposing someone's personal information (doxxing), and impersonation.
- Unlawful content and conduct. Trade in drugs, weapons and contraband, terrorist propaganda, fraud, copyright and trademark infringement, and unlawfully obtained content.
- Spam and abuse. Advertising, bulk or meaningless frames, forcing the system with automated tools, and using or guessing other people's invite codes.
7. Reporting, blocking and moderation
Wherever user content appears, two tools are always available to you:
- Reporting: report a frame, a person or a roll in one tap for nudity, violence, harassment, hate, illegal content, spam or another reason.
- Blocking: once you block someone, their frames are never shown to you again. Manage your blocks under Settings › Blocked people.
Reports are recorded on the server and reviewed by us. We aim to act on a report within 24 hours of receiving it. As a result we may remove content, close access to a roll, suspend an account or shut it down permanently. If you think a decision was wrong you can appeal to destek@dodeyazilim.com and we will review it again within a reasonable time. Knowingly filing false reports is itself a breach of these terms.
8. Nature and limits of the service
The app runs in two modes, and each has different limits:
In guest mode your rolls and frames are stored only on the device where they were created; we hold no copy. If you lose the device, remove the app or clear its data, that content cannot be recovered.
In account mode roll details and frames are stored on the server and remain reachable through your account even if you change devices. Even so, we do not guarantee that the service will run uninterrupted or that server-side data can never be lost. Use the export and share options after a reveal to keep the frames that matter to you.
The following rules are deliberate parts of how the product works: a frame cannot be altered once it is taken; until a roll is developed, a frame is visible only to the person who shot it; developing is final and no new frames can be added afterwards; and when the host of a roll deletes their account, that roll goes with it. Features may change over time; some may be removed and new ones added. Material changes are announced inside the app.
9. Fees, subscriptions and auto-renewal
This version of the app is free and contains no in-app purchases. If a paid subscription or in-app purchase is offered in the future, the following rules will apply and the details will be shown clearly inside the app before any purchase:
- Title, duration and price of the subscription (per period) are shown on the purchase screen in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal: the subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal charge is taken within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Management and cancellation: after purchase you can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your device account settings (iOS: Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions; Android: Google Play › Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trial: where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period.
- Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple or Google and refund requests are subject to that store's policy and must be made to the store. As the developer we cannot refund store payments. Your statutory withdrawal and refund rights as a consumer are unaffected.
- Price changes: if the subscription price changes you will be informed in advance in accordance with store rules, and your consent will be requested where required; without it the subscription will not renew.
10. Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. Where the age of digital consent in your country is higher (up to 16 in parts of the European Union), that higher age applies. If you are under 18, you may use the app only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
11. Intellectual property
The app's code, interface design, texts, icons and animations, along with the “TripRoll” name and logo, belong to Dode Yazılım and are protected by copyright and trademark law. These terms grant you nothing beyond the licence to use the app. Open-source components used in the app remain subject to their own licences. If you believe your copyright has been infringed, write to destek@dodeyazilim.com; content is removed where the claim is well founded.
12. Third-party services
The app uses Supabase for accounts, database and frame storage (European Union, AWS eu-west-1, Ireland), Sentry and PostHog for stability and product measurement, and the Apple App Store and Google Play for distribution. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. What data is processed is described in the Privacy Notice.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We give no express or implied warranty that it will run uninterrupted or error-free, that it will fit a particular purpose, or that no data will be lost. We are not responsible for content uploaded by other users; moderation is carried out on report and with reasonable effort, and does not mean every item is reviewed in advance. Where mandatory consumer guarantees cannot be excluded in your country, this section does not apply to that extent.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or indirect, incidental, special or punitive damages. In any case our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the previous twelve months (zero for free use). Liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury is unaffected. You are responsible for third-party claims arising from your own content.
15. Suspension and termination
You may end this licence at any time by removing the app from your device and deleting your account. If you breach these terms — in particular the prohibited-content rules in section 6 — we may remove your content, suspend your account or close it permanently. For severe breaches (for example child sexual abuse material) closure is immediate and without warning. When an account is closed, the frames it uploaded and the rolls it hosted are deleted with it. If you believe a decision was wrong, you can appeal at our support address.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rights granted to you by the consumer law of your country of residence, and your ability to bring proceedings before the consumer bodies and courts there, are unaffected.
17. Apple App Store specific terms
If you obtained the app through the App Store, the following applies:
- This agreement is between you and Dode Yazılım only; Apple is not a party to it.
- Dode Yazılım is solely responsible for maintenance and support of the app; Apple has no such obligation.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other obligation.
- Dode Yazılım, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any third-party claims relating to the app, including product liability, consumer protection and intellectual property infringement claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and have the right to enforce it against you.
- By using the app you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US embargo and that you are not on any US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
18. Google Play specific terms
If you obtained the app through Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service and store policies additionally apply. Google is not a party to this agreement and support for the app is provided by Dode Yazılım.
19. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; the current version is always published on this page with the effective date at the top. Material changes are announced inside the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
